Nicholas Cole

LEGAL PRACTITIONER DIRECTOR

Nick is an intellectual property and commercial lawyer with extensive experience in the media and entertainment industries, specialising in film and television. He regularly advises clients on a broad range of commercial and IP matters. In addition to his legal work, Nick is a Producer at Talk Films, a small independent film and television production company. His professional affiliations and memberships include the Screen Tasmania Advisory Board (Board Member 2007–2010), Screen Producers Australia, the Australian Film Institute (industry-accredited member), the Australian Screen Directors Association (Board Member 2002–2006), and the Law Society of New South Wales.

Finbar Watson

Finbar Watson is a filmmaker and final-year law student at the University of NSW. His most recent film, Teacups (starring Hugo Weaving), won Best Animated Short Film at the Sydney Film Festival and several prominent international festivals.

Finbar continues to develop new projects and is currently in post-production on his latest short film, Seadog. Alongside his studies, he has worked as an editor, bar manager, and, for the past three years, as a paralegal at Cole Media & Entertainment Law. During that time, he has been part of production legal team for projects such as Boy Swallows Universe, Dangerous Animals, and Beast In Me.

With a deep understanding of both filmmaking and law, Finbar is uniquely positioned to help clients navigate the business and legal landscape of film while ensuring their creative vision is protected.


Samia Hakim

LEGAL & MARKETING ASSOCIATE

Samia is a fifth-year Law and Business student, majoring in marketing. With a strong foundation in both legal and commercial principles, she brings a unique perspective to her work at CME Law.  

Throughout university, Samia has engaged in various marketing roles that have allowed her to creatively apply her academic knowledge to foster brand development and establish strong client relationships. These experiences have shaped her interest in the intersection of business, law and media.

Beyond her academic and professional pursuits, Samia is deeply passionate about the creative industries, particularly music and film. Since 2022, she has been studying at the Sevcon School of Music, further developing her creative interests. This passion inspires her to apply her expertise to support production companies and emerging artists in bringing innovative projects to life.
